Whenever I'm asked what I like best about my job, the answer is unfailingly "our customers." You are the true reason behind everything we do here at Tatcha. Speaking with our wonderful extended family, whether it's through a phone call or a note, is always a highlight. It's also the reason we take the time and care to send a handwritten note to each and every one of our friends who makes a purchase or gives a gift from Tatcha. In our earliest days, I wrote every note myself, and I still make time each week to write as many of these notes as I can ... no matter how busy my schedule. It helps me feel connected and grateful to each and every one of you who are part of this beautiful journey. In the spirit of gratitude, I wanted to share a few of my very favorite stories.
• Last holiday season, we received an e-mail from a wonderful woman who was excited to send our Ritual to her mother. A few days later, we received an equally excited e-mail from another woman with the same last name who couldn't wait to gift our Ritual to her daughter. We didn't want to spoil either surprise over email, but I would have loved to have been present that Christmas morning!
• One of our earliest customers once told me about her life single-handedly running a farm in the Midwest. It was astounding to hear about her early mornings and hard work; my 7 a.m. gym routine suddenly paled in comparison. I loved hearing that, even at 5 a.m. before milking the cows, she still faithfully completes her four-step skincare ritual.
• I am sometimes asked whether our collection is intended primarily for Asian skin, but it is created for every shade of beautiful, and love to see how far flung some of our fans are across the globe. In the last couple few months, we have sent orders to Ghana, Indonesia, Dubai, Brazil and the UK, among other places. I remember one of the first international packages we sent, to wonderful Josef in the Czech Republic, one of our most dedicated male fans. I've been meaning to pick up a few words in Czech and visit him!
Thanks so much and best wishes for the start of a beautiful holiday season with your loved ones. What are you most thankful for this year?
