My time with the geisha taught me that beauty begins in the heart and the mind. This beautiful philosophy inspired me to create Tatcha, and also shaped our philanthropic model: each full-size skincare purchase funds a day of school in partnership with Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program, helping nurture beautiful minds.
We began this partnership in January of 2014 with a promise to fund 35,000 days of school in our first year. Now, we are honored to celebrate the funding of one million days of school.
To commemorate this milestone, we partnered with a gold-leaf artisan in Japan to create the One in a Million Collection, limited edition designs of the two most beloved items that brought us here. The timeless pattern of maple leaves and cherry blossoms, two of the most beloved botanicals in Japan, represents the unlimited potential for growth for the students of the Girls’ Education Program.
Through Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program, one million days of school goes far beyond textbooks and classrooms—each day includes life skills coaching, mentorship and the tools needed to enable a brighter future.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping to make this change possible.
