Reviews

amazing for sensitive skin

"Tatcha The Indigo Cream feels like a thoughtful blend of beauty and function. From the elegant jar to the integrated spatula that attaches neatly to the lid, every detail enhances the experience of use. The texture is uniquely light and refined. As you apply it, the cream transforms from blue to transparent, melting effortlessly into the skin and absorbing quickly without residue. I use this as a recovery moisturizer when my skin needs extra care — after retinol, mild exfoliation, during seasonal transitions, or anytime my complexion feels out of balance. It consistently helps soothe sensitivity and calm visible redness, leaving my skin feeling comfortable, supported, and restored."

Was the only thing that helped my skin

"For MONTHS I was getting horrible sores on the sides of my mouth. I thought maybe cold sores? Was taking meds for it twice a day, but it didn’t do anything. Then my eyelid became swollen and red and itchy. It was like that for weeks. I realized it might be eczema, and tried to find anything that would help. Nothing made it go away until I got this. The first night I used it, the irritation went down significantly. After a few days, my skin was great. No problems at all. On my third order of it, and I still havent had any problems flare up again. I’m upset I dealt with those awful sore for almost all of last year when all I had to do was switch moisturizers."

Why doesn't this one come in XL size?

"I am allergic to lanolin and sulfites and my skin is very dry. I had been using a different brand but on a trip - maybe because of dry airplane air? - I developed a problem with superdry eyelids and the other cream could not be used around the eyes. Ended up trying this one and found it WONDERFUL. As I am a bit childish I also like the blue color, makes it more fun to apply. Pleasantly surprised that it moisturizes sufficiently even in the winter. I can't say that I see any difference vis a vis redness but that's OK for me. Now the negatives: I don't like the night cream at all, I find it smeary. I wish the day cream like many of Tatcha's other creams, came in the supersize. And I have shared the experience of some other reviewers, that there must be an occasional problem with the cream dispensing machinery, because some jars arrive with a GIANT air bubble in them causing the contents to be at best half full and sometimes less. I don't know what to do about this. Customer service did send me a mini version but they denied that there could possibly be a systemic problem and I can't keep writing to them each time it happens, if it happens again. But the cream is too expensive to just accept half a jar. . ."

Indigo Calming Cream

"The Indigo Calming Cream is so wonderful for sensitive skin. I use it for uneven redness or facial dry patches, also for chapped lips or the skin around the lips. I have also used it on my hands when they have become rough and red."

Joan H. (5/5)

"Tatcha never disappoints. The only reason i gave a four star rating is, I enjoy the feel of the indigo overnight repair a bit more."

Maria (4/5)

Not for me!

"Wanted to love it and believe the hype but the eczema flared up like crazy, causing extreme swelling on the face. Definitely not for me."

Angie (2/5)

"The best skin care!"

Great for Moisture

"My skin changed when I turned 40. I’m now dealing with dryness, rosacea (with bumps), and a little sensitivity. I tried a few different moisturizers and they just made the dryness worse and nothing touched my rosacea. This moisturizer is amazing for dryness but didn’t touch the redness or bumps on my skin. I’m currently pairing it with Peach Slices Redness Relief and seeing some rosacea improvement. Regardless, highly recommend for moisture but was a little disappointed that it didn’t help the redness or bumps. It’s pricey but my skin feels amazing after using it. Recommend."

Eczema be gone

"I am so hoping this works! I tried this as soon as it came in the mail. I mean the thickness and texture of the product is so luxurious I couldn’t tell I was using $100 cream or $500 cream. It did take some of the redness away. I will be updating in the next month or so to let you know if it works. I have been prescribed a steroid cream that has stopped working and I am not supposed to use it on my face due to the steroid making the skin thin. Therefore I hope this takes my concerns away!"

Rebecca S. (4/5)

Calms redness!

"Super hydrating and helps to calm my redness due to acne and irritated skin."

Oily vs. Glowy Skin: How to Tell The Difference (And Get the Glow)

While oily skin and glowy skin can seem similar, they are distinctively different. Oily skin is from an overproduction of sebum from the sebaceous glands, while glowing skin gives off a natural radiance from a balanced, hydrated, and healthy skin barrier. There’s nothing wrong with oily skin, and, with a few specific products, you can take excessive oiliness and transform it into glowing, dewy skin. Utilize balancing cleansers, lightweight moisturizers, and oil-absorbing primers to help look more glowy than oily.

An ancient staple in Japan, essences are finally gaining popularity in the US. An essence is a watery liquid infused with skin-benefiting active ingredients that can hydrate, brighten, firm, and more. An essence is pressed into the skin after cleansing and before serums and moisturizers, and is designed for daily use. Some of the best essences for the face have dramatic benefits, including hydrating, plumping, reducing the appearance of wrinkles (as effectively as a retinol), and making the rest of your skincare products work better.
