How to Use

Foam away oil and impurities

Prep this Japanese-style foaming cleanser in your hands, dispensing a generous amount and gradually adding water. Lather with your fingers until it feels like freshly whisked matcha. Massage onto face and rinse off. Avoid eye area. Rinse thoroughly if contact with eyes occurs.

The formula features a smart cleansing system built around four mild, amino acid–based surfactants. Working in synergy, these surfactants generate a luxurious foam made of ultra-fine bubbles that mimics the foam of freshly whisked matcha. Together they form mixed micelles that effectively trap and lift away impurities while preserving the skin’s natural barrier.

"I have been using the Matcha Cleanse for SO LONG because it is superior to all the other cleansers I have tried. It genuinely cleaned my skin every time I always felt amazing after a wash but now it leaves my oils behind and dried up so it does not make my face feel clean at all. I don’t know why Tatcha decided to change such a good thing when it was superior. Please please please bring it back I don’t want to hunt for a new cleanser but I will have to."

"Everyone’s skin is different, but for me this dried out my skin and made my acne explode in response. I know it was this product because I only ever change skin care products one at a time so I know how my skin reacts. I have combo skin with an acne prone jaw and chin and a dryer forehead. It also made my minor rosacea worse because my skin felt dry and irritated. Going to try the silk line and indigo line though, because I have loved my silk peony eye cream for a few months now!"

"I exclusively use Tatcha products for my skincare and have for a long time. I absolutely loved the original matcha cleanse - clear, refreshing, good scent. This new version is terrible. The color is awful, the smell is not nice at all. I ordered and promptly returned after one use. I hope the original will come back. I would not recommend this product at all. I don’t know why Tatcha would replace something nice with something like this."
