During my travels to Japan, I often heard reference to “Samurai Blue”, a rich shade referred to by the rest of the world as Indigo. I discovered that when the noble samurai journeyed across their domain, they wore a layer of Indigo-dyed cotton beneath their armor. The Indigo, famed for its anti-inflammatory powers, would begin to heal wounds the moment they were sustained. The samurai’s reliance upon this powerful plant led to its nickname, “Samurai Blue”.

  • Love having this in my purse

I have to wash my hands a lot at work, so I'm always looking for good hand lotions. This lotion is hydrating, smells good (but not strong), and doesnt feel greasy. I keep it in my purse for every day use. I don't have any problems with color in the lotion. Once you massage it into the skin the blue disappears. However, I share this lotion with my boyfriend sometimes and he has issues wit this lotion staining his skin. He has very dry/cracked hands and the blue color will sometimes collect in the deeper cracks of his hands. I took away one star mostly because it's not as long lasting as I would like an expensive hand lotion to be. With that said, I would totally buy the full size next just so I can have it in my purse.

  • Like Silk gloves!

I have the most sensitive skin especially this time of year when it's so dry and cold. The constant in and out of the car and the heat, the washing of hands to prevent flu, makes my hands get cracked and red and irritated. This saves them. I buy the small ones so I can keep them all over the place- the car, my handbag, my gym locker, my desk at work and my bedside. I really love it that much! I also have the Indigo Body Butter and it feels like wrapping yourself in silky smooth sheets. Absolute must have!

  • Gave me an immediate rash

I wanted to love this product, it started out feeling silky and great. Unfortunately, my hands quickly turned sticky and tacky then I got a bad itching rash. I don't usually have sensitive skin, especially on my hands, so this really surprised and disappointed me.

  • I have multiples of this!

This hand cream is my favorite Tatcha product and I keep one in my car, in my handbag, next to my bed...I think I probably have 5 or 6 hanging around at any given time. I am an art teacher and wash my hands about a hundred times a day, especially this time of year. This hand cream is so deeply reparative. I used to get cracked fingers which were so painful especially in my line of work, but no more. Silk is a lifesaver!

  • Dried Out my Hands

This will soften your hands and absorb easily. However, my hands became drier after use.
