Silken Sunscreen SPF 35 is praised for its smooth and glowing effect on the skin, pleasant scent, excellent texture, and effective sun protection. Customers also appreciate its ability to make pores look smaller and its silky feel. However, opinions on the size are mixed.

"This sunscreen is perfectly fine. However, it is not water resistant and it also has a faint but persistent chemical smell that my mineral sunscreens do not have which bothered me enough for me to wipe it off before a day was over. It smells like your typical chemical sunscreen. This is a combo chemical and mineral sunscreen. For the cost per oz. it is not worth it for me. I'd rather buy a more moderately priced sunscreen that is water resistant, especially in the summer time due to sweat and water activities, that does not have an unpleasant odor. Brands like Cerave and Tizo offer really good mineral sunscreens for a much better value."
"It doesn’t leave a white cast on my skin and keeps me from getting sun burned. Apply generously and allows for it to sit on the skin for a few minutes before going in with makeup."
"So I have super oily skin and this is the only sunscreen that doesn’t look get all dewy / cast looking or feeling gross after application. I seldomly write reviews also but this one deserves 10 stars and if your an oily babe like me , try it out and see if it helps you too."
"This is my favorite sunscreen. No sticky residue; no matte chalkiness; and it works."
"This sunscreen goes on very smoothly!! Love the feel and the end results of no shine and a natural finish."
"I didn’t like the white paste it left on my skin. I only tried it once because of this so maybe I didn’t give it a fair chance."
"best sunscreen ever used"
"Expensive, but love the feel."
"I wanted to love this product but unfortunately no matter how I put on this sunscreen it peels off i’ve tried multiple different ways to end up having it peel off so unfortunately will not be buying this product again just disappointed because I love tatcha products"

Sunscreen protects the skin from UV rays, but it is proven to also protect the skin barrier by shielding it from free radicals and preventing dehydration (from repeated sun exposure). However, some modern sunscreen formulas include additional ingredients that can actually repair and strengthen the skin barrier while also shielding from UVA and UVB rays. Look for ingredients that tout their reparative nature, like ectoin, alongside SPF 30+ formulas, to ensure skin is protected while it repairs.

Many moisturizers hydrate, but the right formula can also impart a dewy glow. These options actually work to get the skin naturally glowing over time, which is exactly what Tatcha’s dewy moisturizers accomplish. These formulas are powered by Hadasei-3, a potent and proprietary complex formulated to hydrate, gently resurface, and even make the products applied afterwards work better. Tatcha has many moisturizers, but two specific formulas that embrace dewiness: The Dewy Skin Cream and The Dewy Milk Moisturizer.

The Japanese game of fukubiki is a centuries-old tradition still practiced today at seasonal festivals and even retailers. Learn about the custom and how you can win up to 4 complimentary minis for a limited time. What’s your favorite summer activity? If you have the chance to visit Japan, you’ll likely get to experience one of its famous summer festivals, or natsu matsuri. Though each has its own meaning and purpose, at their root most seasonal festivals are held to honor nature’s gifts, reconnect with the community, and pray for good fortune. These vibrant and colorful celebrations are often a showcase of the neighborhood with local craft vendors, dancing, fireworks, carnival games, and even a lottery known as fukubiki. The traditional game is said to have originated in 702 when Emperor Shomu held a New Year’s party where strips of paper were drawn for prizes like a beautiful cloth. Modern versions are sure-win raffles that can be held anytime of year where paper fukubiki are drawn from a wooden box. Fukubiki are said to reveal one’s fortune, and in more recent years, earn you a prize at your favorite retailer from mystery bags to discounts. To bring the spirit of good fortune to you, we’ve started our own fukubiki-inspired tradition.
